SPRING IS HERE and with it come “SALES”!!!!

Gary Renkama of Monterra Developments must be happy to see Spring finally arrive. Historically Spring seems to out preform the other seasons when it comes to real estate activity and Monterra’s latest project “The TIMBERS” is proving it.

Following completion of the first three units at the beginning of January, Gary and his team opened their new show home. Activity was very brisk with several hundred people through admiring the layout and workmanship. But…..even though the comments were very positive no one seemed quite motivated to purchase. Crown Isle Vision Becomes Reality

The Vancouver Island Health Authority has announced that the site for the New Comox Valley Hospital will be on Crown Isle lands north of Ryan Road. This further compliments the owners’ overall vision of a community where residents can have all the amenities right in their own back yard. Retail, recreation, dining and health care all within walking distance of your home.

Having the hospital within Crown Isle will allow the Real Estate division to broaden our future offerings to the marketplace. Future residential opportunities will consist of a mixture of single family building lots and multi-family strata developments including patio homes, townhouses and condominiums. Adding in the possibility of partnership with future multi-level care facilities reminds me of the vision outlined to me by Ron Coulson, one of our two owners. Crown Isle will ultimately be a community where residents can live most of their lives through a mixture of Real Estate opportunities all within the same community; all within the same circle of friends and neighbors.

The real question is: “How is this going to affect Real Estate pricing and demand in Crown Isle and the rest of the Comox Valley?” We believe we are in for very busy year!

COSTCO Comes to Crown Isle

Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community welcomes COSTCO to the neighborhood.  Site preparation and additional road work is well underway on the north side of Ryan Road for Costco’s next and largest location on Vancouver Island.   The new Courtenay location will over 140,000 sq.ft. of retail space plus a new gas bar with parking for over 600 cars.   Prior to the grand opening, estimated for sometime in May to early June, road work and installation of lights for a full movement intersection of Ryan Road and Crown Isle Drive with be completed.

Having Costco on the north side will bring a tremendous amount of awareness to the Crown Isle community and we believe a greater demand for Real Estate opportunities both residential and commercial within our boundaries.  Our Crown Isle Real Estate team is working with ownership on several new residential sub-divisions south of Ryan Road and both commercial and residential on the north side.
